Hi Everyone,
Today I met Ronnis from LifeMaps at the Naper Settlement Fine Arts Fair. She specializes in a form of art that captures the essence of what The Boomer Years is all about. As Ronnis puts it, she “captures the juice” about a person and transforms it into a personalized gift of hand drawn art. Let’s listen as Ronnis explains.
What I really liked about Ronnis is how she goes about getting to know someone from the people that care enough to order a special gift that is very meaningful to the recipient. She gets her inspiration through conversations and questionnaires, to know her subjects before planning out the drawings. These topics cover the roles we play in life and the special memories that help define us. Those who receive her art as a surprise gift always are sporting The Boomer Years Grin because of how meaningful the piece is to them.
Ronnis contrasted what she does to the field of genealogy. In that endeavor, people research dates of birth, death, marriages and ancestry of how families have come together. But it doesn’t explain the human experiences of what our ancestors were like as individuals.
Yes, I know we all have videos and digital images now. But Ronnis approaches her work with the idea of getting a full picture of the person, and then capturing that in a work of art. I think that is very cool.
Special moments throughout our lives define us, and this is what Ronnis’s art does for us. It tells about those treasured memories and experiences that stand out as important to us. Imagine, that generations from now, someone comes across your “story” and realizes the influence that has been passed along by gaining some insights from what defines you. That’s what makes the work Ronnis creates extra special.
The Boomer Years are also a time of going after your own bucket list. So I thought who better to ask about their bucket list than someone who paints pictures of other peoples lives with her art. Lets hear about what gives Ronnis The Boomer Years Grin as she describes one of her passions.
Here is what she had to say:
Ronnis is doing what she loves to do, rather than waiting for someday. And that is what The Boomer Years are all about. In many ways, Ronnis is “Paying it Forward” with the unique gifts she makes for her customers. There is no doubt that her customers get The Boomer Years Grin. You can learn more about Ronnis and her art at http://www.lifemaps.biz/index.php/about-the-artist
But like all of us, she has her own dreams and ambitions that she is pursuing and that is what I find inspiring. If you feel inspired, please leave a comment below.
Thanks
John
